When does My Car need a mot?

Vehicles in Britain are subject to an annual MOT test. Those vehicles that come within the MOT scheme, testing is mandatory every year after the vehicle is three years old.

What is a class 7 MOT?

Class 7 MOTs are applicable for those vehicles which have a gross weight of between 3,000 - 3,500kg. They are commercial vehicles, and to check whether your van falls into this category, have a look at its V5 registration document or the handbook.

What is an MOT?

An MOT is an annual check for your vehicle to ensure that it meets the road safety and environmental standards. For the first 3 years, a brand new vehicle does not require an MOT test, and MOT stands for the Ministry of Transport.

Can I drive Without an MOT?

Driving without an MOt is illegal, therefore you can’t drive or park a vehicle on the reload if the MOT has expired. The only exception is when you drive the vehicle is if you’re taking it to or from showehere to be repaired. If caught driving without an MOT, you can get prosecuted.
